Ennerdale Scout Centre is situated at the west end of Ennerdale Water between the foreshore & Common and Broadmoor Plantation.

From the North, South & East:-

From M6 Jct 40 travel west to Keswick/Workington on A.66

Continue on A.66 to Cockermouth, at 1st roundabout (Oakhurst)

Take 1st left onto A.5086 – Egremont

After 7 miles and passing through Crossgates/ Lamplugh area turn left – Ennerdale 2.1/2m

Kirkland (traffic calming restricion and speed hump on entry and exit) carry straight on at crossroads in Kirkland – Ennerdale 1m

Ennerdale Bridge (again speed humps to negotiate) Fork left – Ennerdale Water 1.1/4m, keep left with school on your right forming traffic island.

Follow road through bends and straight until you see white painted Braemar Cottages on your right at junction, turn right with Broadmoor Plantation on your left.

Follow tarmac to 90 deg left at Grike Cottage then 90 deg right at Sawdust Lonning.

After 300 yds look for wooden sign on left ‘Scout Centre’ turn left onto forest rack and carry straight on with entry to car park on your right.

After 100yds you will arrve at Ennerdale Scout Centre gate.


From the South West:-

Follow A.595 to Egremont, at 3rd roundabout take 3rd left onto A.5086 – Cleator/Cockermouth

Carry on through Cleator and after climbing up the hill to Wath Brow turn right at staggerded crossroads with Little Ams and Wath Brow Hornets Rugby Club on your right.

Carry straight on after hump-back bridge over River Ehen and take care at sharp 90 deg left with adverse camber at Hazelholme afer 1/2m.

Arrive Ennerdale Bridge (traffic calming speed humps on entry), cross narrow bridge over River Ehen ( priority to oncoming traffic) and at village school fork right with school on your left forming a traffic Island – Ennerdale Water 1.1/14.

Folllow directions as above from North, South & East to site.
